Futures Inc. Announces Military Spouse Pipeline Pilot at Fort Bragg and Fort Hood
Durham NC - February 28, 2011 – Futures, Inc., a leading talent-management services provider, today announced that it will be piloting the U.S. Military Pipeline at Fort Bragg and Fort Hood, the U.S. Army’s two largest bases. The goal of the pilot is to connect military spouses with the resources they need, including careers, education, peer support and more, to help them cope with the challenges facing them. Features such as communities, resources, career exploration and job search will provide much-needed and deserved support to the people who support our nation’s Soldiers.
Pipeline’s communities allow military spouses to connect with one another. When a life-changing military event such as enlistment, deployment, or separation occurs, they will have a place where they can reach out to others who have shared the same experience, receiving invaluable support and advice. Plus, spouses can grow their professional network and receive career advice through industry-targeted communities.
Pipeline provides a centralized repository of information and tools to provide easy, fast access to the most important online resources. It can enable better access to the wealth of resources available to help military spouses understand the experiences that await them, the benefits and opportunities that can impact their lives, and the government assistance available to them.
Pipeline offers a comprehensive overview of nearly 1,000 careers identified by the U.S. Department of Labor. In-depth information is presented in a user-friendly format, helping Spouses understand the work involved, the skills needed and the education required to succeed. Pipeline uses IPEDS data and locally-created information to map educational opportunities to careers, helping Spouses get the training they need to succeed in their chosen career.
Pipeline offers several methods to connect military spouses to the right job. In addition to the typical keyword and category-based job search, Pipeline maps jobs to careers, allowing spouses to quickly see all jobs in their desired field. Pipeline also allows employers to link jobs to related communities, providing another touch point for spouses to learn about relevant opportunities. Plus, Pipeline’s automated matching technology ensures that spouses will be invited to apply to opportunities that match their skills.
