Futures Inc. Founder Shares Advice For Veterans, Transitioning Military And Their Families

Durham NC - April 14, 2011 - Futures, Inc., a leading talent-management services provider, today announced that veterans, military spouses, wounded warriors, and others recently attended a live webinar given by Futures CEO and Founder Geoff Cramer. Mr. Cramer discussed the challenges facing transitioning service members and their families, the issues facing military spouses such as the transient nature of military life, and the benefits that U.S. Military Pipeline can offer. Mr. Cramer also touched on some of the upcoming Pipeline features, such as a resume builder and a spouse-friendly resource tool for military installations, which will make it even more useful.

At the event, Mr. Cramer explained how U.S. Military Pipeline is much more than a simple job board such as Monster, because it posts all jobs (including Monster jobs) and doesn’t charge for job posts; it is designed to provide the maximum number of opportunities for job seekers. Also, U.S. Military Pipeline includes career path exploration and education resources, so it’s a platform that supports the entire career cycle, not just job search.

Mr. Cramer also explained how U.S. Military Pipeline is designed as a “set it and forget it” system for both employers and job seekers. After a job seeker creates their portfolio (the Pipeline term for an online resume) or uploads their resumes, they are immediately searchable to employers. Then, employers can associated “match criteria’ to their jobs, which will allow U.S. Military Pipeline to automatically find matching job seekers and invite them to apply. Thus, job seekers get notified when a job matches their skills without needing to search, and employers only hear about candidates who both match their needs and are already interested in their job. For more proactive users, U.S. Military Pipeline also offers fully-functional search capabilities so they do not need to wait to find the job, education, career, or candidate they need.

U.S. Military Pipeline was developed as a web-based program for helping veterans, transitioning military, wounded warriors and spouses connect with education resources, mentors and employment opportunities. The program has been successfully piloted at Fort Bragg, NC with around 10,000 active users. As Mr. Cramer puts it, U.S. Military Pipeline is “soldier tested, employer endorsed.”
