JPMorgan Chase and the 100,000 Jobs Mission Partner with Futures Inc to Launch US Veterans Pipeline
DURHAM, NC – JPMorgan Chase and its 100,000 Jobs Mission are partnering with Futures Inc to launch the US Veterans Pipeline. This national career-development and job-connection platform is leveraging “best in class” technology and subject matter experts to create a single web-based solution to serve as a trusted and reliable resource for all of our veterans and their families. The Pipeline core platform has been piloted with the US Army and now has the capability and capacity to deliver on the vision of US Veterans Pipeline, with a beta launch scheduled for later this month.
“We are honored to be selected as the National Job Connection platform for such a worthy initiative. Our vets represent some of the greatest talent our country has to offer”, said Geoff Cramer, Futures Inc CEO. US Veterans Pipeline will be a national platform that helps veterans easily see how their skills translate to high-demand, rewarding civilian careers. Then, they can quickly connect with available education and resources and link directly to partners of the 100,000 Jobs Mission who value their skills and experience. Plus, US Veterans Pipeline’s communities and connections features let veterans and their families access the resources they need when they need them.
In support of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, eleven major U.S. firms have joined together in a pledge to hire 100,000 veterans and military personnel after they've finished serving the country over the next several years. Fortune 500 corporations such as JPMorgan Chase, AT&T, Verizon and Cisco are among those participating. JPMorgan Chase is leading this effort to rally employers for the troops and expects to add more partners and increase the target number of jobs as it grows. Participating employers believe military personnel develop valuable skills in the service which will readily translate to jobs in the private sector. Today, these companies together employ more than one million people. With unemployment currently at an estimated 12.5% for veterans leaving the military today, the partnership for the 100,000 Jobs Mission will commit to hiring 20,000 of these by the end of 2012.
« Back to Press Releases"We have spent a lot of time speaking with military officials and veterans lately, and over and over, they say the biggest issue facing men and women from the armed services is finding good jobs when they leave active duty," said Frank Bisignano, JPMorgan Chase Chief Administrative Officer, who is also responsible for Chase's Home Lending business. "Not only is this the right thing to do for veterans, but all of the companies in the 100,000 Jobs Mission recognize it's a great thing to do for our businesses. Our nation's military and veterans represent the best this country has to offer. They are disciplined, principled and highly skilled. They will make outstanding employees."
