Futures Inc. Pilots Pipeline as Key Piece of Solution to Military Unemployment
Durham NC - February 27, 2011 - Futures, Inc., a leading talent-management services provider, today announced that it has recently partnered with the Fort Bragg Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP), the Warrior Transition Unit (WTU), the Soldier Family Assistance Center (SFAC) and other key stakeholders to conduct a successful pilot of Pipeline as a military career development and job connection platform. Results included soldier surveys and direct feedback. This feedback will be used to streamline Pipeline as an effective tool to help Soldiers transition into the civilian workforce.
By introducing Pipeline during transition services presentations, ACAP counselors helped engage Soldiers with the tools and information that Pipeline offers. Feedback was then collected on the effectiveness of the platform.
Key results included:
- 91% of Soldiers felt more comfortable about their career options in the civilian world
- 90% felt Pipeline helped them connect with educational opportunities
- 96% thought it was user-friendly and easy to understand
- 97% believed this platform would benefit other Soldiers
As one Soldier stated, “Everyone in the military needs to know about this so when they leave, they will have resources to help with the transition.” Counselors appreciated the benefits of Pipeline as well. As one ACAP counselor noted, “Pipeline can provide hope to service members by showing them that there are jobs available to them.” These results show that Pipeline is on the right track to accomplish its goal of reducing veteran unemployment, providing a better quality of life for our nation’s military personnel and reducing government expenses.
